Privacy policy

Hunch is run by Romeo (Switzerland). This page explains what we collect when you play, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for players in the EU, the GDPR. Questions or requests: hello@hunchgames.app.

What we collect

  • Your account: a random account ID, the name you pick, and, if you create an account, your email address.
  • Game data: your answers, guesses, scores, streaks, XP, coins, items, crates, club membership and club chat messages.
  • Purchases: if you buy the premium pass, Stripe handles the payment. We only receive confirmation that you paid, never your card details.
  • Technical data: your IP address and browser details in server logs, and a bot check by Cloudflare Turnstile when you sign in.

Why

To run the games and leaderboards, keep your progress, let you play with friends, stop cheating and bots, and send you sign-in emails. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't send marketing emails.

What other players see

Your name, your spirit and title, your scores on leaderboards, your club, and your answers inside rooms you play in. In the daily games, other players never see your answers.

Services we use

  • Supabase: database and sign-in
  • Vercel: hosting
  • Resend: sign-in emails
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection
  • Anthropic: checks whether an unusual answer is correct. Only the question and the answer text are sent, never your name or email.
  • Stripe: payments for the premium pass

Some of these may process data outside Switzerland and the EU, under standard data-protection safeguards.

Cookies and storage

We only use what's needed to keep you signed in and remember small settings. No tracking or advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. Guest accounts that haven't been used for 12 months may be deleted. Server logs are kept for a short time only.

Your rights

You can ask to see your data, correct it, get a copy, or have your account and data deleted. Email hello@hunchgames.app from the address on your account (or include your player name if you play as a guest). You can also complain to the Swiss FDPIC or your local data-protection authority.

Children

Hunch is for players aged 13 and up. If you're under 16 in the EU, ask a parent before creating an account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the game.
